Secondary Cinematheque films at BFI Southbank

On 29th June we hosted 8 primary schools from Lincolnshire and north London, screening their ‘real/ fiction’ pieces.  In the morning we welcomed students from Dunraven and London Nautical Schools, both in Lambeth.  London Nautical showed their film No Escape, while Dunraven’s piece, Tuesday, offered a very interesting take on the brief. (which was ‘to open your film by establishing your fictional scenario, then allowing ‘the real’ to intervene in the story, taking it over for a moment, before the fiction re-establishes itself.’)

Have a look at how each of the two films interpreted the brief.

And pictures of the film-makers talking..
